Course Overview:

This advanced-level course is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to provide compassionate care for elderly individuals in hospitals, aged care centers, retirement homes, and home-based settings.

Students will learn to deliver daily care, communicate effectively, and address the diverse physical and emotional needs of elderly patients, while working in collaboration with healthcare teams.

Generic Competencies

Practice negotiation skills

Sector-Specific Competency

Understand mental retardation & autism spectrum disorders

Occupation-Specific Competencies

Provide care to elderly persons
Respond to challenging behaviours
Deliver palliative care
Manage clients with stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s & Alzheimer’s diseases

Duration: 3 Months (360 hours)

Assessment: Includes both theoretical and practical evaluations, along with presentations to a formal examiner panel.

Recognition & Certification:

Recognized by the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA)
Eligible for the NSDA National Examination
Certificate of Completion upon successful assessment
Additional training available in foreign languages, cultural awareness, and overseas caregiving practices

Entry Requirements:

Minimum SSC pass
Completion of General Caregiving Level-02

Course Fee: BDT 20,000 (Scholarships available for qualified candidates)

Further Study Pathway: Graduates may advance to: Certificate III in Dementia Caregiving
